CHARLES FARRUGGIO

Principal

With comprehensive knowledge in all phases of the interior design process and with strong interpersonal skills, client relations, and leadership qualities, Charles approaches the design process as a personal collaboration with each client. While Charles consistently stamps every project with a dramatic sensibility, each project is unique, taking its cue from the client, the architecture and the setting.

The Result – invigorating interior spaces for people to live and function in.

A native New Yorker and graduate of Parsons School of Design, Charles Farruggio established his name-sake firm in 2009. It was after ten-plus years of experience working with legendary icons, as Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, David Rockwell, and Phillipe Starck that he was off on his own.

Beyond the skills and experience that Charles brings to a project, his existing relationships with industry leaders, manufacturers, and artisans provide a strong network of professionals that allow him to take on various sized projects. The specific focus and direction of each project benefits from this thoughtfully crafted foundation built over many years.

Charles' portfolio of residential projects includes homes for a range of varied high profile clients in NYC and upstate New York, many of which are repeat clients.

His portfolio of hospitality work includes the Barcelona based youth hostel brand, Equity Point's, first US property located in Times Square - New York, guestrooms for Starwood Hotels Westin brand, corporate apartments in New York City, Jersey City, Boston, and Miami, design management for SBE’s celebrated hotel brand, SLS, and the acclaimed sushi restaurant, Katsuya in Los Angeles, design lead for Morgans Hotel Group’s, Ames Hotel in Boston, Fontainbleau’s Gotham Bar & Grill in Las Vegas and the renovation of the Carlton Hotel in NYC.

Charles’ work has also taken him to international venues where he made a unique impact. He has played the role of Global Stylist for Starwood Hotel’s W Brand, preparing new W Hotels for their grand openings, including the W Barcelona and W Taipei. He also has served as design consultant for a restaurant project in Shenzhen, China.

Interspersed with his interior design projects, he has served as adjunct professor at the New York School of Interior Design and has co-owned and operated a retail design and lifestyle shop called, FRED, in High Falls, New York.
